Colonic Irrigation

Sometimes known as colonic hydrotherapy, this treatment is valuable for those who are suffering from constipation or bowel problems.

At the clinic, a Swedish method known as Clysmatic is used. The patient is left on their own in a toilet. The liquid is pre-prepared with herbal cleansing properties and is gravity fed through a nozzle into the colon where the descending colon is flushed out. This is the area where most of the dangerous bacteria are found and where most of the impaction occurs.

The treatment is safe and simple and private. After the treatment the patient takes a shower and is able to rest before moving on. Before the first treatment, a full consultation with the consultant is given to ascertain as much relevant information as possible. In some cases this has led to a different treatment being suggested as colonics are not always the best thing.

Most detox treatments use a colonic to kick start the process. Perhaps five or six colonics are required, but it is usual for the patient to take with them an enema kit so that the process can be continued in the privacy of the home at any time that is necessary.
